The "Mighty Murray" forms the eastern border of the shire and is ready to host your great river experience.

The picturesque town of Koondrook officially launched it's new wharf and floating pontoon in November 2016.

The river can be accessed from boat ramps in Koondrook and Murrabit and from within the Gunbower Forest near Cohuna.

Thousands of campers flock to the Murray River annually for camping and fishing.  Many take up the opportunity to fish for the iconic Murray Cod and Yellow Belly.

A gentle cruise along the river offers a different perspective of the beauty of the red gum eucalypts that line the banks and the wildlife that call the river home.

You can choose to cycle or drive along River Track experiencing both the Murray River and Gunbower Forest.  Information on tracks accessible in the forest can be obtained through our Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre.
