The Koondrook Wharf was opened in November 2016 and is a contemporary design that allows paddle steamers and large water craft to berth and pick up passengers.

The floating pontoon is also suited to recreational pursuits such a canoeing and fishing.

Constructed alongside where the original wharf was located the new facility allows visitors to walk the 28 metre ramp down onto the floating pontoon to gain a new perspective of the river.

At the entrance to the area an in-ground sculpture greets all visitors.  The redgum, slate and basalt mural is based on a Koori story and features the Murray, Gunbower Creek, redgum forests, the Kerang lakes and the river through to Murrabit as told by local Barapa Barapa elder, Aunty Esther.

A short walk into Main Street you can enjoy traditional pub fare at Mate's Royal Hotel or delicious local produce at the Long Paddock Food Store.
